Congratulations Carly and Kev
There are very few Bristol venues we haven’t visited before, but today we played for our first wedding at the Aztec West hotel. Carly and Kev had booked us to play for their wedding breakfast, and had chosen a long list of all their favourite music from our repertoire lists. We lost count of how many guests we could see discreetly singing along!
Wedding tea in Wiltshire
Congratulations to Daniel and Kerri, who held their wedding in a beautiful Wiltshire garden on a lovely sunny afternoon. We played outside to welcome guests to the wedding, before Kerri arrived in a classic police car, to much amusement! Following the traditional Jewish wedding ceremony, we played in the marquee as guests mingled during the tea and drinks.
Congratulations Rebecca and Jonathan
The May bank holiday weekend was a busy one for us, and we began by playing for a wedding in Warwickshire in the beautiful garden of the Bride’s parents. The sun shone down as we played classical and jazz music on the lawn outside the marquee. Many guests could be seen tapping their toes in time to the music!
Wedding at Tortworth Court
Congratulations Robert and Syrita!
We always love playing at Tortworth Court, and really hoped our music would help to soothe Syrita’s nerves as she walked down the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon in D. The couple chose to walk out to Clarke’s ‘Trumpet Tune’ to keep a classical theme throughout the ceremony. Out on the lawn for the drinks reception we played some jazz and pop to create a more laid-back atmosphere including their special request of ‘Handbags and Gladrags”. The couple had chosen our Jukebox option during the wedding breakfast – we always love to see what people choose for us to play!
Music at Clearwell Castle – Congratulations Richard and Sarah
Easter Monday found the String Quartet at Clearwell Castle for the second time this month! Richard and Sarah decided to have music for the ceremony, and we performed in the Drawing Room during the drinks reception whilst guests mingled around us.
Wedding at the Great Tythe Barn, Tetbury
Congratulations Hannah and Drew!
This was our first visit to the magnificent setting of the Great Tythe Barn, and we hope not our last! The couple chose a mixture of traditional classical music for the bride’s entrance combined with songs by The Verve and Snow Patrol for the rest of the ceremony. Afterwards the weather was warm enough for us to play outside on the lawn during the drinks reception, whilst the couple had photos taken. Some inquisitive younger guests seemed fascinated by our instruments and asked for some special requests of their favourite Disney movie music! We moved back indoors to play for the wedding breakfast, although as we were in the minstrels gallery guests had to stand on tiptoes to pass us their selections from the Jukebox cards!
Wedding at Clearwell Church and Castle
Our first April wedding took us back to a favourite venue for the marriage of Lauren and Harry. Although we have played many times at Clearwell Castle this was our first visit to the Church. We shared the service with the organist, and then entertained guests at the Castle whilst the happy couple were having their photos taken.
Wedding in Westonbirt
Congratulations to Clare and Paul – married at the Fox & Hounds in Westonbirt, Gloucestershire.
A lovely, homely venue which felt warm and welcoming as the sound of our Vivaldi and Bach echoes around the ground floor and out into reception. Clare entered to Pachelbel, and chose to have the piece continue during the signing of the registers.
Unusually, the cermony was followed by a ring blessing by the Vicar at Westonbirt school, and the couple left to the sound of The Departure of the Queen of Sheba.
