Wedding reception in Mapperton Gardens!

We love a good roadtrip, especially to new venues! Saturday found us heading south to Tatworth church then on to the gorgeous setting of Mapperton Gardens in dorset, for the wedding of Natalie and Mark.

Such a pretty place-we wished we could have stayed a bit longer to explore the gardens!

Celebrations!

Big congratulations to Mr and Mrs Gee, who booked us to play for their golden wedding anniversary last weekend, in the sumptuous surroundings of Lucknam Park. Our thanks to Debbie the events organiser, who personally recommended us for the occasion. What a compliment!

And congrats also to the new Mr and Mrs Brain, who married in lydbrook today. Our String Trio played for the ceremony, then hot-footed it to the Chase Hotel to entertain guests during the drinks reception.

A special mention must go to the impromptu under-5’s dance team, who clearly loved our mix of jazz and pop pieces!

Congratulations to our recent couples!

Ooo, we’ve got an exciting new blog app so we’re going to try and keep this updated a bit more regularly!

Huge congrats to Lisa and Ben who held their wedding in the magnificent splendour of Ardington House earlier this month. I don’t think we’ve ever played on an island in a lake before, or had such an appreciative audience of baby swans!

Congratulations also to Tom and Lizzie, for your wedding in Swindon and Cirencester. Sorry we couldn’t do anything to improve the weather but the guests seemed to love our wedding Jukebox to keep them entertained during the meal!

Party and Bailbrook House, Bath

After the morning’s celebrations, it was a brief few hours off (for DIY and horseriding!), and then a quick trip down to the fantastic Bailbrook House in Bath.

A last-minute booking for a leaving do. Quite a few times over the last year we’ve been contacted by people let dwn at the last minutes by other groups. And if we’re free we always try to help. So we appeared as a string trio for tonight’s double celebration (there was a birthday party too). A nice mix of classical as the guests arrived, with Coldplay, Snow Patrol and the Verve for the younger guests.

All finished off with an invitation to partake in the curry buffet.

2012 is shaping up to be a good year!

Wedding at the Spirit of Life Church, Bristol

Chioma and Chidozie – a fantastic couple. And their ceremony was amazing. The dress. The decor. The flowers. And I’m a boy…!

The traditional wedding ceremony, but with an African twist. They had the church band playing for the hymns, a gospel choir. Everything. Oh, and us! We played for the entrance of the entire bridal party; bestman, groom, bridesmaids, page boys, bride. Mendelsohnn’s Wedding March for the party, and the lively section of Pachelbel for Chioma. After one of the liveliest and happiest ceremonies we’ve seen, we then played ‘Fly me to the moon’ for their exit.

A phenomenal start to 2012.

And we got biscuits and cake afterwards.

Congratulations to Michelle and Jonathan.

We get quite a lot of reccomendatons, and part way through today’s drinks reception we spotted Emily. We’d battled the snow last year to play for Emily’s wedding party in Somerset. Today’s couple heard us there and knew they wanted us to play for their own day.

The couple had given us a special list of pieces, a mixture of jazz and pop fod their drinks reception.
