Wedding of Fiona and Richard, Leominster
Congratulations to Fiona and Richard, who held their wedding reception in Pembridge, near Leominster, Herefordshire.
The Ardeton String Quartet were taken into the picturesque setting of the Herefordshire countryside to play for the drinks reception of Fiona and Richard. Richard, a National Hunt Jockey, and Fiona held a fantastically well-planned and detailed reception at a country home surrounded on all sides by fields. Drenched in August sun, we accompanied their lavish drinks reception in such a unique setting with Mozart and classical music, before a band took over for their evening entertainment.
Wedding of Laura and Phill at Lucknam Park, Colerne
Congratulations to Laura and Phill, whose wedding took place at Lucknam Park, Colerne.
The Ardeton String Quartet were delighted to play at Lucknam Park again after some time away from Colerne. This small but exquisite hotel and house is a favourite with the quartet for its long, straight driveway overlooked by trees. Perhaps one of the most detailed venues for customer service, Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers proved to be the perfect accompaniment for the well-rehearsed waiters as they fanned out in a perfectly choreographed manouvre to serve each table.
The String Quartet had been booked to accompany the entire day, from the ceremony through til after the speeches, and we quickly struck a rappor with the guests. After the couple’s ceremony in the ‘music room’, we moved outside and filled the terraced courtyard with light classical music as the sun shone down.
Laura and Phill chose the unique ‘string quartet jukebox’ cards for their wedding breakfast, and tables quickly brought their requests to the quartet. We had also arranged some music from the Lion King, which we were asked to play to the younger guests. After the speeches we played a few more lively jazz and pop arrangements as the wedding party started to move out once more onto the lawn in the evening sunshine.
Wedding of Emily and Robert, St Audries Park, Somerset.
Congratulations to Emily and Robert, married at St Audries Park, Somerset.
The Ardeton String Quartet battled the most horrendous holiday traffic on the M5 we’ve ever seen to play for the wedding ceremony of Emily and Robert at St Audries Park. The sounds of Pachelbel’s Cannon accompanied Emily as she walked from the House across the gardens to the orangery.
We then accompanied their drinks reception in the main house/hotel until the start of their wedding breakfast with a formal and sophisticated air created by a blend of classical music.
Wedding at The George Hotel, Lichfield
Congratulations to Theresa and Kevin, who held their wedding reception at The George Hotel, Lichfield.
After battling the V-Festival traffic, the Ardeton String Quartet played for the evening reception and buffet for Theresa and Kevin in Lichfield. The couple chose to use the Ardeton String Quartet’s unique ‘Jukebox’ idea – guests chose music specially for the couple using jukebox cards placed on each table. In this way, the string quartet became a featured aspect of the evening.
This method always ensures a unique blend of music – with Pachelbel side-by-side with Elton John, and Vivaldi with Jerome Kern. The lively evening’s entertainment ran from 7.30 til 11pm, and we had one of our liveliest and most vocal audiences yet!
Congratulations Sarah & Meirion
Congratulations to Sarah & Meirion who were married at St Benedict’s Church in Clydach, South Wales.
The Ardeton String Quartet were happy to play both before, during and after the Catholic ceremony for Sarah & Meirion. The quartet were given a ‘feature spot’ during the ceremony, where we performed Meditation from ‘Thais’ by Massenet, and then accompanied one of Meirion’s talented pupils’ performance of Schubert’s Ave Maria during the signing of the registers.
The sun was shining, and a wonderful ceremony was enjoyed by all. We wish them all future successes.
Wedding of Rebecca & Jonathan
Wedding at Hatherley Manor in Gloucestershire.
The String quartet played for the wedding ceremony and drinks reception of Rebecca and Jonathan. In a lovely civil ceremony conducted by Rebecca’s cousin, the welsh theme was reflected in a special performance of Calon Lan after the legal proceedings were over.
The string quartet then played on the lawn outside Hatherley Manor, where we played light summer classics, and were delighted to be joined by a number of children who took the opportunity to choose the next piece and to ask questions about the music.
Wedding at Kingscote Barn – Claire and Jonathan
Congratulations to Claire and Jonathan who held their wedding reception at Kingscote Barn, Tetbury.
A lovely afternoon, the Ardeton String Quartet entertained guests inside the side barn, where pieces were introduced and placed into their musical context at the request of the guests!
Penarth, South Wales Wedding
Congratulations to Nia and her new husband, who were married at Bethal Chapel, Penarth on the 27th of July.
The Quartet were pleased to play for Nia’s wedding in Penarth. Having only returned from their Norway Tour just 8 hours before the group was on excellent form playing to a full congregation at Bethal Chapel.
