A beautiful country wedding
Congratulations to Laura and Ian who were married in the pretty church of Marstow on 24th May. Although space was…..somewhat limited for the Quartet, we played the couple’s personal selection of classical music and hymns, before relocating to the marquee to play for their drinks reception. The sun shone whilst photos were being taken, and we were even treated to the passing trays of canapes!
Our first visit to Stonehouse Court
Congratulations to Lorraine and Stephen who held their wedding ceremony in the beautiful grounds of Stonehouse Court. During the drinks reception we played the couple’s choice of lighter jazz and pop music whilst being entertained by the children – and some adults! – playing with space hoppers and giant frisbees on the lawn. The thunder rolled in just before dinner, but everyone stayed in high spirits, choosing music from our Jukebox to be played during the meal.
A new venue!
Congratulations to Kelly and Duncan who were married at Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham on 17th May. This was our first visit to the venue, and we were very impressed! Everyone was extremely helpful and it was a beautiful setting. After the ceremony we played in the hallway whilst guests mingled with drinks, whilst watching the photos being taken.
Congratulations to Louise and Steven, Clearwell Castle
On an uncharacteristically warm May day, we made a welcome return to Clearwell Castle to play for the wedding of Louise and Steven. It was a lovely relaxed wedding day, and the sun shone as guests enjoyed drinks and canapes outside on the lawns. The children were captivated by the sight and sound of the Quartet, and got over their shyness to ask us to play a few of their favourite tunes.
Congratulations to Hannah and Rhodri, 26th April
We always enjoy playing in the stunning setting of The Orangery at Margam Park, and it was a lovely sunny spring day for Hannah and Rhodri. We played for Hannah’s grand entrance to the ceremony, and afterwards entertained their guests during the drinks reception. Many people asked for special requests from our repertoire, and everyone had a very enjoyable afternoon!
Congratulations to Holly and Chris – Wedding at Eastwood Park
The sun started shining as we stepped from our front door to be greeted by the bells ringing out from Chipping Sodbury Church – closing Holly and Chris’ wedding!
Just 40 minutes later we were playing as the happy couple entered the drawing room of Eastwood park. The day involved entertaining the guests indoors in between photographs on the terrace. Chris’ father enjoyed keeping us on our toes with classical requests, whilst Holly’s friends and some of the younger guests (including our own toddler dancer!) enjoyed the jazz mix and Robbie selections that marked the transition into the pre-dinner speeches.
February further afield
Congratulations to Rachel and Trevor who held their wedding reception in the stunning setting of Bishops Court near Exeter. It was a beautifully sunny winter’s day, and we entertained guests during the drinks reception. We even drew the attention of some inquisitive peacocks who watched us from outside the window!
Congratulations to Ceri and Huw
Another visit to Miskin Manor – but with a difference! Ceri and Huw had chosen to have the Quartet as a feature of their wedding ceremony, so as well as playing for the usual points of the ceremony, we also performed a piece of music specially chosen by the couple, between the poems. Afterwards we played for their drinks reception, entertaining the guests who didn’t want to brave the cold for photos!
