Wedding at Blaise Castle, Bristol
After over 500 weddings and 7 years you’d think we’d have played in just about every local wedding venue to Bristol there is. Nevertheless, we found ourselves visiting the delightful Blaise Castle in Bristol for the first time (although Jan had visited the Castle on numerous ocassions leading school trips).
A lovely ceremony with Rebecca and Edward choosing to write their own vows, Rebecca entered the room to the traditional Wedding March, with ‘Can you Feel the Love Tonight’ and Des’ree’s ‘Kissing You’ to accompany the signing of the Registers, before leaving to ‘All You Need Is Love’.
Congratulations to Rebecca and Edward from all of us at the Ardeton String Quartet!

Weddings in Bristol and Bath: July 2008
So many weddings, too little time!
In July 2008 we said congratulations to:
26/7: Congratulations to Laura and Matthew – Wedding at Glan-y-Afon Hotel, Usk
Congratulations to Sally and James
We visited one of our favourite wedding venues, Priston Mill, to play for the marriage of Sally and James. We were delighted to play a special arrangement of Mark Knopfler’s ‘A Love Idea’ for Sally’s entrance, which set the scene perfectly, along with other personal choices for the rest of the ceremony. Luckily the rain stayed away long enough for guests to enjoy Pimms on the lawn during the photos, whilst we played a selection of light, summery jazz music.
Corporate function for Schlumberger
On 23rd July we were booked by Heirs and Graces to play for a reception being held by the Schlumberger company. This prestigious event was held in honour of the company’s president and his invited guests from all over the world, at new premises in Ston
ehouse. We performed a mixture of classical and jazz music whilst the guests enjoyed champagne and canapes before heading elsewhere for an evening banquet.
